Conflict Resolution: Peter Dove speaks out
<watch my video here>

What is the source of conflict? It is disagreement about a value, and when people disagree about something they care about, lasting harm within a corporate culture can occur. Conflict takes away peoples’ heart and focus. It takes away joy and makes work hard. It creates stress and spills onto others. It kills focus and increases gossip and hard feelings. People get the Monday morning blues and dread coming to work. Over time conflict can institutionalize within the culture such that people trade time for a paycheck and do just enough to get the boss to shut up.

How do you eliminate conflict? We facilitate a process that applies the principles of uncompromising truth and receptivity to new ideas. It takes courage to listen. There are distinct parts to the difficult conversation and insight and learning are needed. People in conflict usually don’t speak then listen; they speak and then prepare to reply. Done properly it is possible between willing parties to resolve the conflict. In the process, people learn tools to permanently deal with conflict both at work and at home.

Conflict can be a very healthy thing if it is kept within the boundaries of trust and respect. Resolving conflict is a big part of the business we are in. We facilitate peace.
